I have to admit I am not a foodie. While I really enjoy eating tasty foods (who doesn’t?), I have a hard time explaining flavors or even knowing what I’m eating for that matter. That’s why it’s easier for me to take photos than to write a thousand words. I am used to eating mediocre food at wedding venues, I like to set low expectations and be surprised by great food at a wedding. Blue Hill Farm at Stone Barns is easily on the top of my list for their food. They are famous for their farm to kitchen philosophy, you are literally eating on their farm in upstate New York. You can also catch a wonderful documentary about Blue Hill Farm on Chef’s Table on Netflix.
One of the most memorable dishes was the salad. You could taste the earthiness and how it came from the garden I just took wedding portraits in. The egg and the beef were from the farm we were taking group photos in. The kitchen was also so well organized that I was not allowed to walk through without an escort. Being there was an experience in itself, and I am glad I have photos to share with all of you.
