This week my friend Shakib asked me to photograph his surprise proposal to his girlfriend Siva. We thought about proper locations in the area that had good backdrop outdoors, as indoor locations are much more difficult to plan. Siva is into architecture so what better view than the New York skyline? West New York is a great location, high up on the cliffs, and no people there on the weekdays in Winter.
We arrived early and since we were the only two people there, it made me nervous about being too obvious filming the couple when they arrive. However, I believe when you’re busy wondering why your significant other is taking you to the park, you’re not worrying about other people. It was funny how hard we tried to be inconspicuous in a tiny park with now just the four of us. Luckily it all went well, and she said yes! Congratulations Siva and Shakib!
