Ever since I became a wedding photographer, I knew I would want to take my future wife to various destinations to photograph her in her wedding dress. Now that I finally got married to my beautiful muse, I decided to take her wedding dress to Paris with us on our honeymoon. It was a giant fluffy princess dress that we stuffed into its own check-in. I admit when we’re on vacation it can be hard to motivate ourselves to get up early or to prepare for a shoot, but once we’ve started, our creative juices start flowing and we start having fun.
Our first session was with a Henkaa convertible dress in an open wheat field near Mont Saint-Michel. It was a last minute find while driving and sightseeing. I mounted an Olympus flash on a selfie stick, triggered wirelessly with the Olympys micro four thirds camera. The wedding dress was shot in Le Palais Royal, a 17th century palace & gardens. We got lucky as there was no permit required and we could shoot as we please. Perhaps that’s one of the best advantages of shooting outside the U.S. The last spot was the iconic Eiffel Tower. It helped a lot to have a car to scout for the best spot with minimal tourists, and it probably also helped that it was a rainy day to minimize the crowd.
I hope you enjoy the photos, and maybe if any future brides are interested in an international bridal session, we are ready and packed!
