I don’t think we could have found a better meet cute for a couple… meeting at the dog park! We always encourage our couples to include their furry little friends to be part of their engagement sessions. Pets are usually not allowed at wedding venues while they’re almost always allowed at parks and any public place during an engagement session. Mallory and Paul celebrated their special day in Montclair, NJ right where they live. They got ready at the MC Hotel, a few blocks from their venue Porta. While the weather wasn’t ideal with rain and gusts of wind, we made sure we got beautiful interior shots and fun umbrella ones outside. I don’t think we ever would have used the rooftop space for first look and gotten the intimate portraits we did if the weather was sunny.
The best surprise was Paul not knowing where the wedding rings were mid-ceremony and caused Mallory some reason for concern. Within seconds, to her incredible shock and joy, her Labrador walks down the aisle with the ring! It must have been one of our favorite ceremony moments of all time, especially considering how much I love Labs. With all the dancing, love from the guests, good food and drinks, the day turned out amazing, and I believe the photos reflect how special Mallory and Paul’s day was.
