The best man’s speech at Pamela and Brian’s wedding described how Brian could easily give anyone all his time to be able to talk to you and get to know you. We definitely felt that since the first moment we met the couple at their engagement session. We were talking about coffee nonstop. We had such a great vibe that it was just all excitement to see each other again on their wedding day. The hotel where Pamela was getting ready was our first time shooting in such a stunning mansion turned hotel. The George has such a beautiful bridal suite and even more amazing library room and staircase for such dramatic and perfectly lit canvas for bridal portraits. Whenever us photographers find a gem like that, we run around with our cameras all smiling and happy like kids in a playground with the bride and groom.
Pamela had a surprise for Brian, a 15 pound block of cheese. We decided to make Brian redo the first look telling him we needed more angles, but to surprise him with the cheese instead. His reaction says it all with how the moment went. What really makes the photos beautiful is Pamela and Brian’s positive energy and their priority to enjoy the day with loved ones.
We continued the day at 18 Label Studios in Montclair. The staff did an amazing job decorating the studio space, especially since the couple wanted an untraditional ceremony. The half circle guest seating made the entire experience a lot more intimate and made everyone felt like they’re within the inner circle there to support the couple. They were not just spectators like it feels at traditional wedding seating arrangements.
The couple hired Posh DJs for some awesome dance music that really got us dancing with the crowd too! It’s the best feeling when the guests are so amped up and ready to dance that within a few minutes we felt like we’ve gotten all the photos we needed for the night. Of course that doesn’t stop us from shooting all night still, because it’s just fun for us to do so!
