We had one of the most unique experiences in our wedding careers thanks to Patricia and Eric! The cute couple lives and work in Manhattan, so it would only make sense for them to celebrate their important day in the same city. The venue they chose was absolutely amazing and visually jaw dropping. Most venues are completely industrial like in a city, or all nature in the suburbs. 620 Loft & Garden was a surreal blend of the two – a rooftop garden on top of 5th Ave overlooking Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, and surrounded by a concrete jungle.
Patricia got ready at Lotte New York Palace, another beautiful hotel just two blocks from the venue. The large suite allowed for lots of natural light and space for getting ready with her bridesmaids. The courtyard outside the hotel also faced Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, just the opposite side of the venue. They couldn’t have planned this any more perfect. With such tight and limited space in Manhattan, it was so awesome to have a large open space outside for their first look. After fighting the hot blazing July sun, the bridal party all went back inside in the cool air conditioned hotel lobby for more photos on the beautiful stairs.
The first reaction when exiting the elevators to the loft is just draw dropping at the sight. Most people will have been to Manhattan their entire lives and never see this view. We were part of a very private and intimate gathering while just below us were the hustle and bustle of tourists from all over the world shopping and taking photos at the Rockefeller Center and through 5th Avenue.
We always love our couples, and Patricia and Eric are no different. From the beginning I noticed their affection towards each other from the Zoom call, to the engagement photos, to the wedding day. They also both contributed to the theme that also carried over from the engagement session to the wedding. Patricia loves the golden yellow in the attire, to Eric’s love of Star Wars spread throughout the wedding venue. It was definitely not obvious, and only a keen eye and ears would notice the nerdy bits during the day.
We also encourage all of our couples to be unconventional and prioritize enjoying the moment, their guests, and the food! Patricia and Eric did not have a cake cutting, or first dance, or bouquet toss. They made sure they ate cocktail hour food, their main entree, and their delicious ice cream cake before it melted. We love a couple with priorities!
