We really love the small, intimate hotel The George in Montclair, NJ. The large bright guest suite for getting ready allows the bride to feel truly pampered and relaxed. The small property of the hotel gives more of a home vibe rather than a large bustling hotel. Everyone on the property is part of the wedding, either family or friends, and no busy traffic of strangers rolling their suitcases past you. Next door to the main suite is the beautifully decorated library. Every corner of the room is meticulously designed and provides a great photo opportunity regardless of the angle. We always have a great time getting our first look portraits for the bride and groom inside the library and the beautiful staircase. There is a sense of elevated elegance when you’re in The George, juxtaposed by the humorous design taste of celebrity George portraits scattered throughout the rooms.
Adriana and Marc are some of the most calm couples we’ve ever met. They really show their love and affection towards each other in a subtle and quiet way. Their kind and soft demeanor with their children who are their bridal party really resounds in what a great family they are. This is our first bridal party that is completely children and young adults and it’s refreshing! I may even admit that these kids behave better than a lot of adults at weddings!
After the first look and family portraits, we headed off to Porta in Montclair, NJ. Their second floor venue allows for a perfect intimate outdoor ceremony. The natural light easily fills the ceremony balcony while being covered enough to block the elements. The large main floor below the largest disco ball we have ever seen is also perfectly catered to intimate weddings where the bar, dance floor, and dining tables are all within reach.
One reason we love Adriana and Marc is how they truly love each other and just wanted their friends and family to enjoy their celebration. The day was not about the glitz and glamour of showing off wedding traditions and what money can buy, but it was all about family and having fun. We really did capture that and that’s what fills our hearts, and our cameras with amazing stories!
